How do I make my contact list in IM smaller?

Who gave hotmail permission to make random invites to people in my Contact list ?

• Can someone tell me at what point did Hotmail suddenly think it was ok to randomly invite people on my Contact List,usually whom i don't particularly want to get "friendly with"? Most of my contacts are work related ! Also, What makes Hotmail, feel it can suddenly become another "Face book"? Hotmail is for sending email. I didn't consent for it to suddenly inform people on my contact List, what i have been doing, and i certainly do not want to told what my people on my contact list are doing ! Now Hotmail bullies you into updating its software (it wont run, if you decline) no doubt so it can be more like Face Book...i guess i should have stuck with Yahoo !!!!

  go in to the settings on profile page and set everything to no-one or just people on network basically you are blocking that page you do not have to use it just use the email section i did that and it functions very well no problems
