Is there an "idle" speed for the web?

Download speed is fine, but web pages can barely load, and I can't play online games?

  • I'm slowly becoming desperate here, and don't know what to do. For a good while now, at my home, the internet has been awful. Web pages barely load if at all, I can't play any online games, but when I start a download, either by torrent or regular, the download speed is perfectly fine, reaching the normal 500 kb/s. My router is TP-Link W9801G. We get TV through the router as well, and there never was any problem with it. It works fine, just like the download speed. The DNS and IP settings are all set to automatic like they should, and of course I've tried unplugging and resetting everything. Nothing helps. I know it's not the computer's network adapter, because it's the same thing at my laptop when I connect to it wirelessly. The signal strength is at all 5 bars too. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. If you need any extra info, I'll update it here.

  • Answer:

I'm not sure what your issue is other than try to run an anti-spyware program and antivirus.
