Tips to fix the wireless connection problems in your PC are given below: Check the wires and wireless network adapter: It is important to check that all your wires are plugged in to the router. You should also verify that the power cord is connected and that all the lights of the router and cable/DSL modem are on. You should then check that the wireless network adapter is switched on. In Windows, go to device manager and check whether your wireless network adapter is enabled. If you are using a USB wireless adapter, try removing it and then re-inserting it while Windows is running so that it will detect it. Proper positioning of router: If you have placed your router where it will attain the strongest signal, you might not face problems with the wireless networking set-up. If you have fewer physical obstacles between your computer and the router’s signal, then it is possible to use the router’s signals. You should also try by changing the position of the router and access point. You should try placing them centrally between all systems. Since the signal from routers bounces off smooth and shiny surfaces, the routers and access points should be placed away from doors, windows, mirrors and other metallic surfaces. Low signal strength: The wireless phone at home might be of a 2.4 GHz frequency, and then you should take notice if you lose the Internet connection when placing or receiving a call. These wireless phones will interfere with routers because these operate on same (2.4GHz) frequencies. If this takes place you need to power down the router and turn it on after sometime. The solutions to these problems are to upgrade your wireless phone to 5.8GHz or to use a wired phone or use a wired Internet connection to your router. You can also keep devices like microwave oven and similar electronic appliances away from the wireless devices. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110627123831AADuz8b
