Internet Connection Acting Up.. Please Help?
-
I have high speed internet, when I connect the LAN to my Xbox the connection is great, without lag, and runs smoothly..However when I connect LAN to my laptop, the internet is slow, has trouble running youtube videos, sometimes doesnt load pages. In the bottom right it shows "Internet disconnected" then 2 seconds later "Internet connected"..It varys how often it happens, but its very frequent. I'm now using wireless and still the connection throws off..I even checked the signal and it says 98% Strong. I can't come up with many minor details to help you find my problem..The simple fact that my Xbox proves my internet is fine confuses me enough. Please suggest way to fix this! Thank you.

Answer:
Try resetting your router or modem, and when you do that, try it again. Sometimes it gets laggy going from port to port on different systems, so you may have better connection with a simple reset.

The best way to make your internet connection faster is download an internet optimizer software, such as, Reginout. Also, disable the add-ons, clear the browser cache and temporary internet files to fix the problem. [A] Disable Add-Ons: 1. Open Internet Explorer. 2. Click Tools | Manage Add-Ons. 3. Select an add-on and click "Disable" button. [B] Delete Browser Cache and Temporary Internet Files: 1. Open Internet Explorer. 2. Click Tools | Delete Browsing History. 3. Click "Delete" button.
I would like to help you with this... but this could be so many things on your ISP's side.. or the computer and for me to take a guess at one of the possibilities because there isn't much following up on Yahoo Answers.. if one of the answers here doesn't help you, I can help you at my source. Login to 192.168.100.1 -Check for any time outs / errors in the docsis log. -Make sure Upstream SNR is between 29-35 (more you can do but stopping here) -Go to www.pingtest.net and make sure you have no packet loss... and a decent ms to the local server it matches you to nothing more than 85 ms Also... To give you better solutions I would have to probe the problem more... HypeWIRED.com if you need additional help.
Yes like the above answer try resetting the modem & router. If that does not work you will have to contact your ISP's technical support to help solve the problem.
