Why isn't my website loading?

Internet speed/website loading issues?

  • A few days ago, my internet connection began slowing down and some websites would not load because they'd time out. On the bottom of the screen when it would time out, the status would be "Connecting to..." and then the name of whatever website I'm trying to connect to. For example, Facebook sometimes would not load, and other times it would. Another example would be the Microsoft website. It won't load at all. Another example would be parts of the apple website. I went to the download screen of safari 5 and the area where the buttons were to begin the download would not load. The rest of the website did though. Sometimes, if the website did load, it would take a very long time to. For some strange reason, if I moved my mouse cursor around the screen, it would load at normal speed. If I stopped moving the cursor, the website would stop loading. I have Verizon DSL connected to a Linksys Wireless G router. There is one ethernet cable hooked up to a Apple G4, one ethernet cable hooked up to a router hooked up to an Apple G3 laptop (theres a second router because the one wire would not reach the laptop). The wireless is being used to connect to a custom-built PC with a Linksys Wireless G USB adapter. I didn't make any changes to the computer before this started. This is happening to all the computers hooked up to the network, wired and wireless. The only recent change I've made to the network was hooking up the laptop. I tried unplugging the laptop, but it still continues. This is very annoying to me for things such as paying the bills online, trying to update software, etc. Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.

I tested this with two ISP connections found it very useful with One of them, didn’t get much difference in case of second ISP. Always try and use a download manager. You need to talk to your ISP and also download reginout to sort out this issue.

You don't have a computer issue, because all the computers went from normal to slow at the same time. It's either the service, the service-provided box (cable modem / ADSL), or the router. First thing to try is to connect the service-provided box directly by ethernet cable to one computer with no router. If that is still slow, contact the ISP.
