Can I watch my computer on the tv?

  • I was wondering if it is possible to watch what I play on the computer on my tv. Often I will watch a tv show that I missed online. It would be so great if I could now find a tv show online and still watch it on my tv. My laptop is about 2 years old and I don't know anything about its components. If there is something I need can you please be specific as to what it is. Thanks in advance for all the help!

    Here is what I do. I have a 55'' lcd hooked up to my laptop using an S-Video cord. Then you hold the blue Fn key hit the F8 key and the video should switch. go into control panel and resize the resolution. If you don't have S-video you may be outta luck.. I kicked cable tele to the curb.. all internet for me!

Ok, you need a way that to get the signal there. Since your notebook is two years old you probably have a VGA cable out. Depending on your TV, you may need to get an adapter to fit your TV unless it's has the same jack as your computer; If that's the case, just get a VGA cable. Otherwise you may have to get a vga to componet/composite/DVI cable adapter.
