I would like to promote my business site? Is there any SEO service that provides free website promotion? Help!?

Answer:
No one is going to do it for free, especially if you want quality link building done. I can guarantee you a free service is likely a scam. What I would suggest is trying to go to places like eLance.com, Guru.com, ScriptLance.com, and oDesk.com to find link builders. You'll get a good deal at those places, you'll pay around $2/hr.

You can use http://buildmylink.com to promote your website
You can get a lot of free help - there is all the information you need out there. What's missing (and what you need to pay for) is advice on how to put things together: Everybody knows the ingredients for pizza but not everybody can make a great pizza ... don't kid yourself, if it's free it's worth what you paid for it: nothing. When you go to the doctor or dentist, when you go to the pub or to the public toilets you pay for each and every service - why shouldn't you pay for quality consulting to optimize your website ? It just doesn't make sense ...

Hi, I am a VirtualAnalyst and I promote my services (100% FREE) on www.zoomspec.com. There are no hidden catches. From your profile page you can do so much: 1. Add a profile overview to tell prospective customers about your business, products and services 2. Add classifieds to further push your products/services 3. Upload images, audio and video clips (link to youtube clips) again to promote 4. create a video introduction or maybe as some do, upload a mini tv style ad campaign to really sell you, your business etc. - Get a friend to help you or even get a professional who can innovate to produce something for you 5. Create a blog and provide news updates, insights, background information, and anything else you can think of to attract a following 6. Create events (maybe a product/service launch, special offers etc.) You can interact with all other members, discuss problems, offer solutions in the forums, chat in the professional live chat rooms (even hold structured open brainstorms (or private groups if preferred) in the brainstorm rooms, 7. interact with other B2B suppliers 7. buy, sell and much more... and if that's not enough, and you need more from the site, just contact the zoomspec team and they will try their best to add it for you...very helpful. Hope that's of somehelp for you and good luck

As others have said, you're not going to get someone to spend their time and effort promoting your site for free. Any type of "free" service you sign up for would likely do your site more harm than good. You can troll the forums and find SEO "wannabees" in third world countries who know a few buzz words and market themselves as SEOs who will work for $2-3/hr... but buyer beware. You get what you pay for. They will generally get you a bunch of very low quality free directory links and blog comment links, 99.9% of which are either nofollow links or have been devalued to worthless by Google's ranking algorithm. Or they will target some VERY long tail phrases that no one ever searches for (or that never convert)... phrases that any idiot could rank for and then brag about how they got your site to page one... Unfortunately, being there for that keyword phrase does you no good... no traffic... no conversions... Your two best options IMO are: 1) Hire a professional SEO but ONLY if they have LOTS of excellent references and are know in SEO circles (like the popular forums) as being knowledgeable or 2) Spend some time learning at LEAST the basics of SEO and link building by reading books or ebooks (like Aaron Wall's SEOBook) or trolling SEO forums like webmasterworld.com, forums.digitalpoint.com, www.google.com/support/forum/p/Webmaster… Even if you're going to hire a professional SEO, you should educate yourself on the topic so that you are at least knowledgeable about the topic to preven you from getting ripped off. 99% of the people out there who "claim" to be professional SEOs actually suck at it... they are absolutely terrible at it. Almost every web design firm on the planet claims to do SEO because they know no one now days will hire them unless they at least "claim" to know it. But I have YET to see a single web design firm who actually "knows" SEO. It's NOT their forte. 99% of the good SEOs out there never brag about it because business comes to them through references.... without needing to market themselves. Their work speaks for itself. If you're going to hire someone for SEO, know what keywords phrases you want to rank for and get a baseline ranking for all of those keyword phrases before any work ever starts. Also get a baseline for traffic for your site - which pages on your site people are hitting the most, what referers are sending your traffic, for organic traffic which keywords are being used to find your site in the search engine results pages (SERPs) and which pages are ranking, etc. Monitor progress as the SEO builds links to your site by continuing to pull rankings like once per week and to monitor traffic. Without a baseline, you have no way to measure the success and ROI on your SEO investment.
