Ebay bidding price question?

now sorry if this question is really obvious and stupid, i'm just new to ebay and stuff. so i went into my ebay, and clicked under bidding, now some of the prices are written in black and some are written in red. but i've been outbid on them all anyways, so why is there two different color text?
