Every time I open Internet Explorer 8 this pops up....?

  • Everytime I open Internet Explorer 8 this pops up; "A Program on your computer has corrupted your default search setting for Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer has reset this setting to your original search provider. Internet Explorer will now open Search Settings, where you can change this setting or install more search providers." How do I stop this from popping up every time I open explorer? It's sooo frustrating!

I would suggest going to the professionals cause it sounds like your computer has some sort of virus

it sounds like the search engine on your IE8 is corrupted. If you have a virus or just recently had one, that could be the cause of the problem. To fix it, you have to change your search settings back to default. The window should go away.

You can always try uninstalling IE 8.0 and reverting back to IE 7.0 ... open it and see if it does the same thing. If it doesn't then it was more then likely something that got installed that did not like IE 8.0 . You can then reinstall IE 8.0 and should be all set. Second option, if this just started happening you could restore your computer to a known date before this occured. Note if you are running Windows Vista, it will not affect your files or changes to files when you select the restore point. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
