I can't make internet explorer 7 my default web browser by going to control panel?

I have two web browsers, firefox, and internet explorer 7(I downloaded them both, I first had internet explorer 5 only). My default web browser is firefox, and I want to make internet explorer 7 my default web browser. I went to control panel, and there is no internet options button, but I recall seeing that button about few months ago when I checked control panel. Is there any another way?

Why would you do such a thing. They are from the same company and Microsoft is even suggesting that you use Firefox instead because Internet Explorer is still really vulnerable to viruses. But what you do is open up internet explorer, go to tools, then internet options, then programs, then make default.

An alternate method to get into Internet Options is Press the "Alt" key on the keyboard (show/hide Menu bar) to make the menu bar appear. Move your mouse up to Tools>Internet Options Click on "Programs" tab and look under the area "Default web browser" and you should see the "Make default" button. Hope that helps.
