How to connect to the Internet on CentOS?

Internet explorer question. How can you connect a server using internet explorer?

  • My sister is getting AT&T internet service this week. The company sent her a modem/wireless router without a disk. She said that there is a pass code that was sent with the unit. I let her borrow my good Acer which was thoroughly checked before I gave it to her. The laptop is only a year old and wasn't cheap. I had a little bit of trouble with the unit but had it checked for any viruses or other problems. The tech found a Java update to have caused a problem and wiped it cleaned and repaired the computer. He said the entire laptop was in excellent condition. My sister called today and said that there was a problem with internet explorer and connecting the computer to the internet. I know that I had to call my internet provider for help connecting my computers to the new wireless router I received. It wasn't any of my computers. It just needed configured to the internet provider. They had to set up a username and passcode. I was shown how to set the codes. I connected the internet not using internet explorer. This is why I'm wondering why AT&T is telling her to try to connect to the internet through internet explorer. She needs access to the internet to use internet explorer. What can I tell her she needs specifically to connect to the web? I'm sure it will take the same steps that my cable company used for my computers. Could she damage my Acer trying to access the bios? My sister is not good at all with computers. She's crashed all of her 4 computers in the past year. I think she's opening infected emails. I'm not giving her anymore computers. I have 5 computers now. 3 are brand new, one desktop, and a macbook which I am hoping to upgrade soon. Thanks

  • Answer:

I think she needs to connect her pc to the wireless router with an cable (I guess it is provided in the set) Then see need to browse the the internet browser to the wireless router which most of the time has the address 192.168.1.1 so Connect her pc to the wireless router with provided cable. Start internet browser and type in http://192.168.1.1 and follow the instructions on screen...
