How can I block emails from an individual?

How can I block my IP address on emails?

  • Need to send some emails but I don't want the recipients to know my email address. How can I block it? Would the IP address be blocked if I sent the emails from gmail, yahoo or which client can I use to do that?

  • Answer:

No, most email sending services record and transmit your IP address in the email message headers usually, the only way I know of to hide IP addresses is to use an anonymous email sender, the kind that can send 'spoof' type emails, then only the email server IP is sent. Your IP will still be recorded by the server (so don't do anything illegal) but it won't be sent with the message. The proper way would be to use a proxy, web proxies can be problematic using email providers, you'd be better off using socks proxies (IP and port numbers) and changing your browser settings. You'd appear to be from somewhere else then but some degree of technical knowledge is required else it can mess up your internet altogether. Another, better method would be to use a vpn (virtual private network) but that again requires some tech know how. It depends if you're planning short term or long term and how much you're willing to spend (if any), vpn's can cost. You could use a free email address though like gmail, yahoo, live etc. just make a new one up.
