  • My birth name is Eva Everly . (E-va) I really and truly hate my name and I've changed it many times . I've always felt so uncomfortable with it , it distracts and bothers me regularly . Right now , I've only changed my last name , and altered my first name into Evahh McClellan . But still , I hate my real name , and I need a last name to match . Like being a new person . -Firstly . does anyone have any name ideas ? Something of a middle length name with a short , but different last one . -Second , how do I get people to start calling me by my new name ? I don't know how to convince all of them . Do i put my new name on my school papers ? Please help

  • Answer:

You really can't. You can try and convince people to start calling you that, and you can tell all your teachers to call you that, but you can't really put that name on your papers, because substitutes and etc. won't know who it is. You can't legally change your name until you're like, 18, I think, but until then you'll have to deal with your name. I don't know why you hate our name. It's really pretty. And Evahh? Is not. It's just Eva with two unnecessary H's at the end. If you really hate your name [which you shouldn't, you'll just have to suck it up and deal with it] you can ask people to call you a nickname or something.

Eva Everly is such a gorgeous name! And Evahh is probably the most disgusting horrible excuse for a name ever!!! Why oh why would I ever want to add all those stupid h's to the end of your name? Grow up! It's your name. You an choose to embrace it and make it beautifully you, or you can become Ammberrlyeeiighhhh Jayyyceehyyehhh McCllellanhhhhh. Garbage.

You cannot legally change your name until you are at least 18, I believe. That, or you have to have your parents sign a ton of papers. Your name is not that bad. My name is Campbell (yes, like the soup) and I hate it. But I'm mature about it and I know there's nothing I can do about it right now. So you need to just face the facts and live with it. Your "changed" name, Evahh is ridiculous. It sounds like a noise someone would make during sex. I'm not sure if Everly is your middle or last name, but if it's your middle name, then you could go by Leigh, since Everly has the "ly" sound in it, which makes a sound like Leigh. As for school, it's nearly impossible to get everyone to start calling you that unless they haven't known your real name before. They will think it's ridiculous, and, honestly, they'd be right. It IS ridiculous. Suck it up and live with your name. We all have to do it.

Well, depending on where you live, you'll have to do it legally to be able to use it on documents and school papers - and it costs money. If you are in the US, the laws vary from state to state. If you are outside the US, some countries don't allow it. But generally you have to be 18 to change the name yourself. Generally, you can change your name informally by simply using the new name, but it would not be a legal name. So, yes you can change your name for friends to use, but school documents would still have your legal name. And to get people to call you by your new name, ask them, tell them that you want to be called by the name of your choice. Family has the hardest time with this. My legal name is Kathleen and people started calling me Kathy in grade school and I hated it, so tried all kinds of names until I just started demanding to be called Kathleen. Well, that was 26 years ago, and my family still occasionally says that name I hate, but everyone else uses my name - and that's because I corrected people when they'd call me something different. Or I'd simply say to them that I really don't like hearing a name I'm not happy with so I'd appreciate it if you would call me by the name I prefer. Your name is the most important sound you will hear in your life, so it's important that you like what you hear. Eva is a pretty name, but not if you don't like it. Let me suggest to you that you look over some listings for names and see what names resonate with you. Something lyrical is what seems right for you. How about Raina McClellan or Rhea McClellan http://www.legalzoom.com/legal-name-change/name-change-pricing.html

-Firstly: Jessica? That's my name! ^.^ -Second: You'll have to pay for a new name or something. Idk. But your name is super pretty. Eva! You can nickname it Evie/Evee ^.^

go to your local grocery store and purchase a name changer. Then enter in the name that you want to change to and then the government recognizes your new name. Now everyoen will call you this name

Use Emma? It's close to Eva. :)
