Which family name do you like best for a girl?

  • What do you think of this name for a girl? My husband and I have a 4 year old daughter named Gabrielle(gah bree EL) We named her after my husband's late brother Gabriel (GAY bree ul). Her middle name is also after a family member. Family names and traditions are very important to us. We're expecting another child, a girl. We have decided we want to name her after my grandfather Michael. What do you think of the name Michaela? It's is the traditional, feminine, Hebrew form of Michael and pronounced Mih KAY lah) We will not change the spelling of the name to any of the other variants (McKayla, Mycaela, MihKaela, etc.) We find these variants to be distasteful. Which combo do you like best? All middle names are family names as well. Michaela Jane Michaela Alice Michaela Eve

I like the first, Michaela Jane, it sounds really feminine. Michaela Alice is sort of a mouth full and Michaela Eve doesn't sound right. But that's just my opinion! How about the spelling 'Micaela'? I have a friend whose name is spelled that way :)

Did I answer this a couple days ago? I love the name Michaela and especially the spelling that you have. I think Michaela Eve is the best choice. I love how it flows with your last name. It is very pretty and I wish you lots of joy with you new addition

I'm so glad you're using the traditional spelling! It makes the name so much more beautiful! Alice and Jane are both perfect! I prefer Alice though. :)

I love Michaela. It's so pretty, and I agree, the oher name spellings are just kind of silly. And what's unique about the names you've picked out for your daughters is that Gabriel and Michael are both the names of angels from the Bible and Christian tradition. Very cool. I prefer Michaela Eve. I love the name Eve, for one thing, but it also goes best with the name, in my opinion. Michaela Jane Conkin has too many n's. The problem with Michaela Alice is that Michaela ends with "la" and Alice begins with "al." It just doesn't seem to flow that well. Michaela Eve Conkin is very pretty and classy. Hope this helped!
