How to get into event planning?

Want to get the word out on my new baking/event planning. figured I would host an event. Any suggestions?

  • I just started a baking and event planning business and I think it would be a great way to get my name out if I did an event with both my baked goods and creativity for event planning. I need good rental spaces in nyc, Or maybe around the Bronx. Also, suggestions on going about somethings are welcomed. Thanx!

    One of my friends did a chocolate tasting. It was a small enough event that there was a presenter talking about all the different chocolates. At the end she had a drawing for a couple of chocolate baskets. I've also been to a beer tasting event by the same person. Both were really fun and informative.

Look for local events where you can get a banner posted as a minor sponsor this entitles you to show/market your product.
