How can I promote my site without spending money?

Is there something effective online marketing ways to promote a site?

  • I have a small site(dating site). I have tried many ways to promote it, Such as Facebook, Twitter, affiliate, etc. But all these ways don't work well. In the other hand, I don't have enough money to advertise my site, So I want to know if there is something useful and effective ways to promote my site? Thank you in advance Harry

    I am in the same shoe like you struggling in traffic generation. I am also low in budget so my main source of traffic (if any) are coming from safe-lists and traffic exchanges. However those are not buyer traffics so the conversion rates are very low. I have since learned that the only way to get organic traffic is to start with keyword-targeted domain name and then work on SEO. In time to come the organic traffic will be when you are rank in the first page of Google. I am working toward that goals now.

Traffic is not the real problem. The real problem with most things that is advertised online is that most of them are just same old things. People just don't like common things especially on the internet. People want to associate with the best. When there are a lot of 'A' people will pick the best 'A' and all other 'A' will be ignored. Some of these other 'A" could survive but it is hard long journey. So the best way about making things online is just don't be like the rest in your market.

Harry, Yes! There are useful, effective ways to promote online sites. Face book and Twitter, can work, The trick is to find your target market and invite only them into your Twitter and Facebook sites. You are here on Yahoo! Answers. Have you tried putting some keywords into the site to see if there are any potential clients here in this venue. I have many more ways of getting into niche markets.
