What are some ways to advertise my personal business?

• i have a sign business and i'm really starting to get it going. the only thing is i have a website, but i dont actually have a store. a couple of shops have my signs and furniture in them, but what else can i do?? thanks so much for any ideas. its very appreciated!

  Leverage as much free advertising as you can. Use your personal social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Myspace to keep your friends updated about your business and try to generate word-of-mouth referrals. Hand out business cards everywhere you go and when you're ringing out at the local convenience store, don't be afraid of giving them a card. Also post ads on sites like Craigslist.org and Kijiji.com. For relatively cheap, you can also send flyers around to local businesses. If you have a current customer that is displaying your sign and they have a particularly nice storefront, ask if you can photograph it and use it for your flyers to display your product. To get your business rolling, you can sell your signs for little to no profit (offer discounts) just to maximize your exposure. Some people may also own more than one business, so you can do a two-for-the-price-of-one deal or buy one get one 50% off or something to double your business quickly.
