I would like to get a job in the marketing or advertising world.?

i have a BS in business... but i think marketing and advertising would be more my thing. i am very creative and love art and design.. unfortunately its all about experience in the field.. and have none(except for marketing or ad that ive done for my own company) how do i make the transition?? should i go back to school? and if so, how many years on top of my BS do i have to complete??
