What is the best follow up product on the bikini line area?

so.its gearing up to be spring time and summer is right around the corner. I want to shape up my ******** area for swimsuits. So today I invested in a bikini line trimmer or whatever they are called.I usually get waxed but with these economic times blah blah blah...i thought I'd invest in a product and do it myself. Anywhoo, I'm wondering what is the best type or shaving cream and "after shave potion" to apply on the bikini line area. I want to avoid in grown hairs and bumps and the like. ANy suggestions?
