Answer:
first, get your ears pierced. second, try on some earrings. if you get an allergic reaction, go to the doctor. if you don't have a reaction, congratulations.

Go to a real piercer rather than getting them pierced by a piercing gun idiot. Their jewelry isn't going to be quality and not proper at all. Ignore the response to use gold - gold is not proper for fresh piercings. Surgical steel and titanium will be your best bet. It's rare for people to be allergic to SS, even more to Titanium. Titanium is by far the most superior metal and a real piercer is going to use implant grade titanium whereas Claire's will put in some plated titanium crap.
Usually you have to try a different varieties of jewelry It's the certain metal that people are allergic to rather than the piercing If you are allergic to that certain metal you're wearing then you just take it off If not then you just keep the earrings in your ears and clean them with the medicine alcohol with a Qtip or those other cotton swabs Infections are no big deals with the earrings But if you're going to do some cartilage or belly button or other body parts I suggest you head over to a place where they do legit piercings like Claire's or something
nickle tends to irritate. when you get em pirced they dont use tha.t its very unlikely
Its not likely that you are allergic to earings - i mean you touch metal every day of your life and don't have a reaction and thats all that earrings are. What is more likely is that the piercings get infected which can only be treated with antibiotics - so save up for a doctor visit before you get them done. As for cleaning them, soaking them in water or some malls have free jewellery cleaners will do the trick :D
You would most likely not be allergic to high quality gold - 18 carat and up, so start of with some small 18 carat studs (you have to keep them in for a while anyway at first after having your ears pierced). There is a good chance that, while your body is getting used to the new piercings, that it may look all red and inflammed, but this is normal for a week or two - its just your body getting used to the foreign object. To clean your new piercings, you need to go to a pharmacy and ask them for an anti bacterial cleanser, I know that I used bactroban cream on my belly ring. You can also get some alcohol (from the pharmacy - the kind they use for cleaning, not the drinking kind) and use a cotton bud to clean the piercing. Then, once the initial piercing has healed and you are ready, you can try out different types of earrings. I know that, for example, I can wear ordinary metal earrings during the day, and I'm fine, but if I sleep with them in I wake up and they're all red and sore - so I wear fun earrings during the day and then switch to gold studs at night.
You may be allergic to common metals like bronze, copper or even silver, but may not for gold 22 to 24 carrate
