What products work best to treat acne? Personal experience appreciated.?

I am a 17 year old girl and like most teenagers I have some acne. Both of my teenage siblings have bad acne. I don't have "bad" acne but I have had a mild case of persistant acne since I was 14 or so. I get especially bad breakouts right before I have a period. I've tried everything to cure my acne and have gotten so frustrated that now I just cover it up with makeup. However, as you all know, acne covered up un-professionaly with makeup looks pretty bad. I have very dry skin and all types of acne (blackheads, pimples, ect.). Again, its not serious enough to see a dermatologist about but its very annoying. What is your advice? What products have worked for you? Also, what do you think is the best product for dry skin?

Answer:
Epiduo Works really good and is really easy to use. There's no three step process or anything, you just put it on your face after every shower and it will start working in a few days. I have Dry skin too and Epiduo doesn't really dry me out unless you use it for many days in a row. You can go every other day and it will still work really good, i would recommend it, because i had a similar problem like you. They only downside is the cost. It can cost as much as 50$ a tube, but the tube lasts a long time.

For dry skin - the Simple range (cleanser, toner, moisturizer) For acne - just go to the doctors :) i went to the doctor last year and they gave me this cream that worked really good so i didn't need to use it but now ive ran out so i went back to the doctor just two days ago and they gave me some more cream (Duac Once Daily) and also some tablets which you have to take every morning. Not many commercial products work so i would just recommend going to the doctor. Just make sure you clean your face twice a day :)
proactiv
Anyone who tells you that one thing does or doesn't work has no clue what they're talking about! They can tell you what worked for them. They can tell you what didn't work for them. But that doesn't tell you what will work for you. Everyone's skin is different, just like our personalities. That means that everybody's skin will react differently to different treatments. What works for me might make somebody else's acne worse - and the other way around. The best thing you can do is go to a drugstore or grocery store, pick out some different things, and use each for about two weeks. Less than two weeks won't give it a fair chance, and over two weeks wastes time. If it makes your skin worse or doesn't do any good, throw it away. Time to try the next one! Keep going until you find a product that really works for you. Not your best friend, not your mom, not some person on the internet, but YOU! Good luck!
proactiv is great and it prevents future acne too
