Hot waxing in the cold or warm?

Home-made sugar waxing question, please help!?

• I tried that recipe to wax your legs with sugar for the first time. I tried to do everything right (I was really hoping this would be a good alternative to everything else) and I want you to tell me if I did anything wrong! = ) So the recipe that everyone says "really works" is 2 cups sugar, 1/4 cup water 1/4 cup lemon juice. I simmered it on the stove until it turned amber brown and let it cool while stirring. To cool it faster I put the pot in cold water in my sink, making sure not to get any extra drops of water in it. Once I could stand to hold my finger in it for a while but it was still hot I applied it (to my lower leg) quickly, applied a cotton bandana, rubbed it down quite a bit (at first I was not convinced it would stick!) and ripped it off very fast. All the wax came off and everything, but it didn't pull out the hair...rather it tore each hair in half, leaving some serious stubble! Why did it do this? Was the wax not hot enough? Is it just not going to work for my hair-type? Man I hope that is not the case; I've tried every other hair removal method and they all piss my skin off so bad and they don't even last; it's not worth it. Unfortunately store-bought waxing kits are out of the question too they are just too expensive. Please, do you have any tips I could use to make the waxing work?

  one of freind also tried making wax at home...it was good but after waxing the hairs that came on the arms was vry hard....so i would suggest buy redimade honey wax... they are vey good....
