Does Tazorac help with acne scars?

Acne and Acne Scars (please help me...)?

  • I am using the acne free kit thing from Wal-Mart and it's working pretty good.. but.. I still have acne(not as much as before), but my scars are BAD. I mean like.. hardcore bad. You seriously have no idea. So, since I have scars, from a distance away or even up close the scars look like acne, and make it look worse and like my face isn't getting better. I was wondering if I could use my acne free and use scar treatment stuff at the same time; without breaking out or messing up the process of the acne free. Is this possible? I would like to try and treat them both at the same time. If this is ohkay, can you recommend some scar treatments that wont make me break out too? (no oils please; I have badddd acne prone skin) So; can I use acne free and scar treatment at the same time WITHOUT messing up the healing of my acne. and... can you recommend some scar treatments( no oils/ not all that expensive). Thanks a ton. (:

well i had to get stitches on my face a couple years ago from an accident and i use these little like silicone clear sticky things on it and they work well. they're by like curad or something like that. the plastic surgeon who did my stitches recommended them. but the only problem with trying to heal a scar is that the only thing that works is silicone, which is very oily, so it can cause acne. i think if you keep up with the acne free stuff and then apply scar stuff at night, you should be able to help the scars and fight the acne. if you have scars in kinda random places, i'd suggest some cream stuff, like have you heard of merderma for kids? well you could use that or i'm sure they have other creams too. good luck. :)

Clearasil is pretty good, buh everybody is different. you can go to a dermatologist and see what they recommend/prescribe you. sometimes just plain hand soap and water works the best. if your skin is too oily try a soap that doesnt make your skin more oily but make it a bit try, buh keep your limits on using it, b/c you dont want to dry out your skin completely

You should go see a dermatologist. They'll prescribe creams/ antibiotics that will help clear up your skin. If those don't work they may put you on Accutane and will suggest the best methods to rid acne scarring.

First, as an acne sufferer myself, I can tell you that you may not have actual scars. There is a condition that is called hyperpigmantation. After your skin becomes inflamed, you are left with pink or brown marks on your skin. These will fade over time so you have to have patience but you can help them go away faster. Gently exfoliate your skin. Avoid things that are made from ground up shells or apricot pits. They can scratch your face and make the irritation worse. You probably have a facial scrub in your kit and most likely the scrubbers are small, smooth, plastic beads. Continue using that as directed. After a while, you'll start to notice that the red marks are fading. To fade them faster try a skin fading cream (you can get this at a drugstore). Apply it to the affected areas. This could take a few months but stick with it and you will see results. I wouldn't really try those scar removal strips. If the marks don't go away, ask your doctor about possible treatments.
