My nose keeps bleeding?

Nose piercing keeps bleeding?

  • i got my nose pierced 2 days ago and i understood that it would come with a little bit of bleeding, but mine bleeds a lot especially at night. is this normal? what should i do?

  • Answer:

It is normal for a piercing to bleed throughout the first week of the healing process. If there are large amounts of blood or the bleeding persists beyond a week, you should go back to the piercer, but it is okay for it to be bleeding during the healing process. When you are sleeping, the piercing is probably getting irritated and bleeding for that reason. I have had my nose pierced for about a year or so now and sometimes when I change the jewelry, it still bleeds a little.

You're probably irritating it during your sleep, it's nothing worrisome, especially during the first couple of weeks. I suggest you keep it clean though, getting rid of the crusties as soon as you wake up.
