Why is my skin peeling so much?

The skin on my legs is peeling... not sure why? What else can i do?

  • I use skintimate shaving cream and Dove moisturizing cucumber body wash, I shave fairly often, I don't like hair. I use ample amounts of cocoa butter after every shave and mostly after every wash. I take good care of my skin, and its normally very soft, and I'm not sure why. I don't think its sun, I got a tiny patch of peeling on my shoulder from 2+ weeks ago, but these are my WHOLE legs, and they didnt get very much sun at all, I cant believe I burnt them. I shaved today, and exfoliated A LOT to try to get off the dead skin. I used Vitamin E body oil and will be doing that all day with cocoa butter. It's still peeling right now though, I'm rubbing with my hands and oil to get it off. Will I irritate it? Anything else I can do? Did I just dry out my skin through washing? Does food affect it? Does drinking less water affect it? (I don't drink nearly as much as I should) I eat fairly healthy though, and I like fruit.

  • Answer:

If you rub Vaseline on the spot that's peeling, it should stop. That or use tons of lotion. Also it could depend on the soap that you use. Some soap can seriously dry out the skin and irritate it, this could also happen if you constantly use the same product. Sometimes you could also over moisturize so you shouldn't always use a lot.

have you been in the sun? if you have its cause of the sun i would see doctor cause sometimes it can get really bad

Maybe you're "overloading" your skin with products. You should try to give it a day or two without anything. Just let your skin naturally heal and get back the moisture.

try not to shave so much every other day is good. Dont put so much stuff on it. Just shave and rub your legs with lotion

Try a banana peel on it!

you shouldn't shave every day thats whats making your skin peel try a wax like once a week or shave every three days or so

You may want to check the lotions, soap, and sunblock youve been using lately. did you get poson ivy or oak? Did you irritate it in any way?

You are putting a lot of stuff on your legs, just put cream.
