Needle is the way you're suppose to go. I got my done with a gun though 5 months ago and haven't had a problem yet. And it can't break your ear. The gun could shatter nerves in it though.
no ur ear doesnt break. people do it all the time
I would definitely suggest getting your cartilage pierced with a needle. Guns have the possibility of cracking your cartilage, whereas needles do not. Guns force dull earrings through your ear that are not long enough to allow your ear to swell or breathe and can prolong the healing process and lead to infections. Piercing guns are made of plastic and therefore cannot be autoclaved, this means that the gun is not properly sterilized and can transfer diseases. Usually a barbell or ring is inserted into your ear when done with a needle. They are long enough and easy to clean. Most of the time, one time needles are used. The best I have been to was Adrenaline. They do tattoos and piercings. I don't know if where you live has one. But if it does, I would definitely recommend the place. If not, I would suggest you look online for reviews of different places around your area. Make sure they use one time needles only and check out the place before getting your piercings done. Chances are if the lobby is not clean, the piercing equipments will not be either. Good luck :) P.S. I got my second lobes done with a gun and they took forever to heal. They also got infected. However, my three helix piercings and my tragus (all cartilage) were done with needles and healed within a shorter time and did not get infected :)
needle. and you CANT break it.
you won't break your ear if you get it pierced, but there is a chance it will crack your cartilage. i would highly suggest getting it done with a needle instead of a gun because then you really lower your chances of cracking the cartilage. good luck and i bet it will look great :)
Cartilage can be torn when something is forced through it, but if you go with a needle its so sharp that you don't have to worry about that. Here are reasons why a needle is better then a gun. 1. A needle is brand new and never been used. 2. A gun can be cleaned, but not sterilized. 3. A needle actually removed a VERY small piece of skin, or in this case cartilage, which causes less tissue damage then a gun which just forces the tissue aside when it shoves the jewelry though. 4. The needle method hurts WAY less and heals better then the gun method. 5. The needle method makes a cleaner and straighter piercings where the gun method usually turns out crooked. 6. There are usually less complications with the needle method. Don't be nervous about getting it done. Just make sure you go to an actual shop and have a professional do it and you will be fine!
The needle is definitely the better route. You're going to have to go to a piercing studio to get it done, just google it around your area, and read reviews to find the best one. You run the risk of shattering the cartilage if it is pierced with a gun.
