Tanning Oil SPF vs. Sunblock SPF?
-
Is there a difference between Tanning Oil that is SPF 15 compared to a Sunblock lotion that is SPF 15? I LOVE LOVE the smell of tanning oil and though the bottle reads SPF 15 I'm still concerned that it wont be as protective because it is an oil and not a sunblock lotion. So, is there a difference?

Answer:
yes there is a difference. sunblock is used to protect your skin from the sun, and that only. however, the purpose of tanning oil is split 50, 50. one half if the purpose is to make you tan faster and easier, and the other half is to protect you. so really when it says 15, your probably only getting about 8 out of it!

well tanning oil amplifies the effects of ultravioloet rays and makes u tan as it increases the production of melanin more where a sun block absorbs or reflects the suns rays.
