How to convince your parents to let you get your ears pierced?

  • Im 16 years old and i want to get my ears pierced and hopefully only gauge them to size 4. but right now im trying to get them pierced. my parents tell me that they would never let me get them pierced because "i would never get a job and no one would take me seriously." what they dont seem to get is that in my generation, like 40% of males have them pierced and that no one cares about guys having tattoos, earings, or even gauges. how do i convince them to at least let me get them pierced with a stud? and if i were to get them without their permission (even though im 16) they threatened to not pay for college and they were serious. how do i convince them?

Tell them that you grew up and it's time for a change in life. It's the only way for a 16 year old. I'm 14, you have much more advantage than a 14 year old and a 15! Just tell them that you really want it. That threat is huge. Your parents can't force you to NOT give you money for college! That's a stupid threat to say to a child. Just tell them that you really want it... BTW... those guys with the weird site, they are giving that site to everyone who asks a question o_o

tell them that you like the way it looks and there are way worse piercings out there. tell them that in front of important people such as possible employers, elders in the family, etc. explain to them that alot of males, including successful males, have ear piercings and its not bad. hope this helps !! :)
