Cartilage piercing infection?

Cartilage Piercing Infection =/?

  • i have an infection from the piercing and my doctor told me to take it out then try to put in in again withing 2-4 days ... good idea or not. Im already on the antibiotic cream and the tablet thing. 1)Will putting a new earring back in cause an even worse infection or even deformation? 2) Will it close up even before i get the chance to put it in? ps is the medical plastic a good idea to put in to replace what ever metal that i used before ?

  • Answer:

Go to a different doctor next time, or a piercer. Taking it out will just trap the infection, and you most likely won't be able to get the earring back in a few days (cartilage closes up really fast). 1) It shouldn't, unless you're allergic to the material. You may want to look into some titanium jewelry just to be on the safe side. 2) It may, it may not, it's different for everyone. Medical plastic may be alright, either that or titanium.
