How can I get rid of razor burn?

• How can I get rid of razor burn? The thing is, a couple of months ago, I thought it would be a good idea to get really cold in the shower so my hair would stand up so I could shave it better. Big mistake. For the first time yesterday, I realized that I have (what I think is razor burn) little red bumps over my entire lower butt / close-to-butt thigh area. Before, I just thought it was my skin that felt funny, but they are actually looking like little zits, still persisting. I don't know how to get rid of it, but next weekend, I am going to a water-park and I certainly don't appreciate its presence there. How should I get rid of it and still get rid of the hair at the same time? Also! While you're answering, I get zits (not very noticable, but they bother me, like tiny soft bumps) on my inner thighs.   those bumps are the actual hair growing back in to your skin. Thats really what razor bums and those little zits are. I suggest if you are going to shave do so in hot water since it opens up the pores. Shaving in cold water kind of makes your skin "stand up" causing you to cut it. I'm not sure if I'm explaining myself well, but I'm trying hehe. To avoid them make sure you use a quality razor and use shaving gel. Another alternative is waxing. What I do is dye my thigh hair. Its so thin that you can barely notice it... now that its blonde you cannot see it at all. I simple lay in the sun with some hydrogen peroxide covering my thighs reapply as needed and done. but thats just me try it out and see if you like the results.
