If you go over it with regular ink, it will just barely glow under a blacklight. Think wisely about that decision!

When you get tattooed the machine injects ink into your dermal layer, and during the healing process the body attempts, and should, fail at rejecting the ink due to it being a foreign body. Instead it creates a hard ball around the ink which protects the rest of the skin and is what makes tattoos permanent. I say this due to the fact that when someone gets a cover up the original ink doesn't just disappear it just gets hidden by the next lot of generally darker ink (As you can only go over a tattoo with a darker colour.) So what does that mean for your original tattoo? Who knows, there's not a lot of documentation on blacklight tattoos*, or what happens when they get covered up. Since the original ink is still present then some of it may still fluoresce, yet it may be obscured by the next lot of ink. Or it may be patchy. Or it may be fine. Won't really know till you try. *Also included in the documentation that doesn't exist is whether or not the ink that's used is carcinogenic. I.E: Causes cancer. The shop I work at doesn't touch the stuff.
