How much would this tattoo cost?

  • All the tattoo shops around my town are very cheap (and it shows). I'm planning on going to Houston, Texas for a better tattoo shop, but I'm curious as to how much the tattoo I'm planning on getting is going to cost. I don't want to have to drive all the way to Houston (an hour away) to several different shops just to find a price range. I'd rather get it done while saving as much gas as possible. The link goes to a self-portrait with the tattoo in mind on my side. That's the exact tattoo I'm planning on getting, size and everything. How much do you think this would cost? (Just the lineart, no shading or color added.) I'm not going to post the actual tattoo's lineart due to art theft, so please, just an estimate on the link below would be awesome. http://i42.tinypic.com/14t2c5c.png Again, ignore the girl, she's just a model. Just the octopus is what I want. The shops in my town said between $90-$120, but that seems way too cheap for a good job. What do you think? ALSO! Does anyone have any recommendations for a good tattoo shop in or around the Houston area?

    One thing about tattoos is they are hard to price over the phone,you may have to take a trip to the shop to have it priced,but i would try what Julie suggested first...But i like the tattoo

That looks like a really rad idea but I agree that 90-120 seems super super cheap. Have you considered calling some of the shops in Houston and explaining your situation? They may be able to give you a rough estimate if you email their artists a link to the picture you posted here.
