I just got my first tattoo, advice please?
-
I just got my first tattoo on Saturday. It's a flower about the size of a baseball a little above my ankle and I love the way it turned out. I have a few questions about the aftercare of it though. 1) I know it sounds silly but is it normal for my tatted ankle to be slightly puffy compared to my other ankle? Before anyone jumps to conclusions, it's NOT infected because it's not insanely puffy and there's nothing oozing out of it or anything. I'm on my feet 95% of the time at work besides on my lunch break so it's not like I can rest that ankle. Will the swelling go down as the tattoo heals? 2) Another silly question but to ease my mind, is it normal for the tatted area to feel sore? I'm a rookie when it comes to the tattoo thing so I just wanna make sure this is normal for ankle tats.

Answer:
Thats all normal. & yess the swellin should go dwn in like a week or two. It'll start itchiin soo bad in a couple of days or probably already did, bt dnt scratch juss pat it a little. Also insteadof vaseline or anythin else, place some ointment called A&D. Its to cure cuts, white with maroon letters. Usually sold in drugstores, juss put it on for like 2 weeks and never let your tat stay dry durin these 2 weeks..

perfectly normal, mine was the same, just dont rub hard on it as it well inflame cause its healing, i accidently rubbed my caff muscle awhile back, it swelled a litttle took awhile, so no worries, always keep grease on it, once it dries even a little you dont want scabbing to happen, because it peels off afterwards and looks ugly and makes the artistest look bad. care is key, so grease always till healing is done. hope this helped
1) Yes, it's normal, although, if you're on your feet all the time, it will take longer to heal and it can be pretty sore a lot too. So rest it as much as possible, because it will just be sore all the time otherwise. 2) Yes, but like I said, rest it as much as possible. It will heal better and faster if you do and it will help with the pain.
Yes to both it swells a little because its an open wound so it's going to make the skin puff up and make the tattoo go scabby which isn't nice The reason it's sore is because its only just starting to heal give it 3 days or so and it should feel fine just look after it and it should be ok
