What does it take to become a global artist?

What does it take to become an tattoo artist?

  • i love art... im not the best at it but thats bc i only do it once and a while when i have time.. but i was wondering what does it take to become a tattoo artist.. i know i would have to practice and become better at art but how can i start?

  • Answer:

start to draw constantly and develop a portfolio. teach yourself how to paint and shade with markers as those two shading techniques tend to relate closely to tattooing. once you're of age you can take your portfolio to a local tattoo store and ask if they are taking apprenticeships. you have to be willing to pay them to teach you, and work in the shop until you develop your skills well enough to be a tattoo artist yourself. also, depending on where you live, there are also some places that give tattoo courses out that last about 3 months. they will teach you all the basics of tattooing and sell you machines to learn to do so. all of which though require you to develop your skills in drawing and shading, as this is the base foundation of being a tattoo artist.
