Where does the butterfly get its name from?

Where to get my sons name tattooed?

  • i am 32 weeks with my first baby, i am very much looking forward to having his name tattooed after i have him. at first i was sure i would have it on my wrist, but what do you think? his name will be five letters long (i feel it untraditional to announce the name before he's born) do you think it would look better with his full name or his initial? which is an 'M'? has anyone had their childrens named tattooed, where did you get it and what do you think now? anyone know of a place that looks particularly nice to have it? any opinions are welcome, i'm grateful for any answers. thanks! xx oh and i will add that i do not what a design with it, just the name or the inital(s)! would be fab if you had links to pictures too! x

So, to celebrate the birth of your child you want to disfigure your body, well don't do it, all tattoos look gross when they are done and look positively hideous on people as the get older.

Ignore the previous answers, some people are so rude/immature. I think that his initials would look better personally, and stick with the idea of having them tattooed onto your wrist, I think that would look great! It will be a lovely surprise for him when he grows up (: all the best for the future x oh and as for the where to get it done, all depends on where you live.

ack dont mind people some people on here are stupid why answer if they cant help you out eh? well i personaly would like a childs tatoo on me too as its 4 life..:) i think your wrist is a lovli place to get a tatoo i have one on my wrist of a heart and design around it and evrybody loves it and my friend has her sons name rote on her wrist to in celtic writing an it is just gorgeous so i say go for it on your wrist :)

I love your idea. I am getting a portrait picture of my son done on my chest but for your idea why not get it done in a nice curvice style writing on your wrist.

on your forehead

I have my 2 boys' first & middle named tattooed on my upper back; in between my shoulder blades. But it's not finished yet, I still have more of design to add. http://www.flickr.com/photos/34186227@N02/4514907250/ If you just want a name an no design, then I think your best bet would be your wrist or shoulder blade. Although, [just my personal opinion], I think you should add some sort of design or at least make it in a pretty font. Good luck!

While I can appreciate the symbolism to having your Child's name, I am personally not a fan. I think it looks trashy to do it on the neck. On the inner wrist looks a little better, but I am also not a fan of just a name. I much more like the design to go with it and perhaps the name worked into that. Of course this is my personal opinion and you don't want the design. Given that, the wrist is not a horrible place (as I would say the neck IS a horrible place), but for me it is hard to think of a place to just have a name. I would probably create some form of initial with some thing to show the origin of the name. I am picturing you only wanting a plain font M or Mason (or whatever the name will be), but I think it can be much sentimental to add little things to it, for example a block font fancy M with some very small symbolic design in the M. I don't know if this falls into the "do not [want] a design with it" or not, but that is how I would do it. I also often find portraits don't do justice to the subject. Again, my opinion. Gratz on the child and good luck with the tat.

Id say wrist or foot full name in scroll-like writing? :)

make up a old fasion scroll and begin at the top with something meaningful to you maybe a symbol then place the babies name under it and leave room to add more as you have other children
