Is the inside of your wrist a sensitive place for a tattoo?

Is the inner wrist a good place for a tattoo?

  • I am thinking about getting my first tattoo, and I want to get my name in Chinese on my inner wrist. I found the design but I'm wondering about getting it on my inner wrist. I don't deal with pain extremely well, but I can deal. Is the inner wrist a good place to get a tattoo? I'm not worried about hiding it. I could just wear a watch or long sleeve shirt, but I am a little concerned about the pain. Any recommendations for my first tattoo experience?

  • Answer:

Tattoos are lame marks of conformity. Since you don't have any yet I'll suggest foregoing marking up your skin. If you must have one get it on the inside of your mouth.

I would think seriously about getting your first tattoo on such a visible place. I would also reconsider getting a Chinese symbol. Way over done and unless you speak and write Chinese, you never know what you're getting. China has many dialects and some are geographical to their meaning. In short, if you can't read or write it, best stick with what you know. The wrist is tender, but bearable.

I have a tattoo on my wrist and I love it. I barely felt it when it was done and it is a good place to have as you can cover it up or show it off just as much as you like. Personally however I would not have chinese writing. It's so overdone and I think you can find other script that is far more unique to you and beautiful to have.

when getting the tattoo, be careful that the artist does not pop one of your blood vessles bc as u can c, there are many in your inner wrist

i have names across both my inner wrists, its bearable.it depends on how big the lettering is as to how much its gonna hurt.good luck.

i have an inner wrist tattoo...and i can tell u it will hurt...u will feel it all the down to your finger tips because of the veins in your wrist...but after it is done it is a really cute place to have one..and it is easy to hide..

If it is directly on top of the veins expect some pain. My sister has one on her wrist and she said it wasn't too bad. It's small so the pain will only last for a few seconds and once they take that needle off your skin there is instant relief. Don't get it somewhere else because you're afraid of some pain, since you haven't had a tattoo yet it will be a little shocking at first but before you know it, it's over.

I have a tattoo on my inner wrist, and I didnt think that it hard that bad. I love mine their. Very easy to cover up, or you can show it off. Good place to get one.

I have both of my inner wrists done and I love them. I'm gong to get my right one re-done in a few months, to change the picture. It was the only one I didn't design myself and it bugs me. The pain was not bad at all. I have a total of 12 all over including my whole back, ankle, foot and behind my ear. I would have to say that, by far, the ankle hurt the worst. The wrist was not bad at all really. On a pain scale, 1 being worst 10 being no pain, i'd put it at a 6 or 7 really. I do agree with what someone said about the Chinese characters. I had a friend that spoke Chinese and made sure mine were right first. However, you should definitely check online, or through someone who speaks/reads the language to make sure what you are putting on your body is the real deal. You don't want to end up with a word equivalent to feces or something.

My first tattoo was on my chest, it was just a little rose, I do however have a tattoo on each on of my inner wrists, 1 side says bad and the other says twin. Its painful but not unbearable. I have 16 tattoos total, and Id say the worst one was the top of my foot and down my spine, if its small you should be ok. As far as covering it up, a watch or braclet will do fine, I said that same thing, but I never have covered up. Its a personal choice but I think its a good spot. If you want something less discrete or non visable, then try and ankle or like your breast/chest area. I also have a chinese symbol for friendship on the back of my neck, that area doesnt hurt at all and your hair will cover it up. I dont think chinese symbols are bad, if you arent sure that they will actually give you want your looking for then have them bring it up online, or have them show it to you in a book, but Ive never came across a tattoo artist that would actually give you a different tat then what you are asking, that is their job. IF they dont give you quality work, its their *** on the line. SO I wouldnt worry about that.
