How many piercings can you have healing at once?

Septum Piercings and Swelling. Healing Up or down.?

• I had a tounge piercing a while back that I had to take out due to swelling and healing over the top bar. If I didn't take it out it would have caused major problems. Anywho, I got my septum pierced yesterday due to the fact i've been wanting another piercing for a while b/c I used to have 5 or so I had to take out for job corps. Anyway, I know they say you can let it heal up or down and which ever you choose to let it stay that way while healing. I'd like to let it heal staying up b/c of my job as a desk clerk at a hotel. Anywho, my question is does anyone know if that will cause problems like my tounge did if the swelling won't go down? Will it cause a problem along the lines where it will swell up so much it won't come back down after healing? Maybe i'm paranoid, but i'm just worried. I've done plenty of research, but I can't find any on that particular question. Am I just being paranoid and stupid or not? Thanks a lot.

  With my septum piercing I only experienced swelling for two days I had it down for two weeks and by then it was completely healed. It shouldn't do anything like your tongue.
