What is a good tattoo to represent becoming a mother?

How to persuade parents of letting you get a tattoo?

• I really would love to get a tattoo but a very specific one. I have been brainstorming about since last August. The tattoo will be three different colored feathers (representing my mother, step dad, and a black feather for my father since he always played blackbird by the Beatles to my sister and I when we were little) they will be tied together with a string (I was actaully thinking of having only two feathers and make the string represent my mother since she keeps everything together and etc.)that will hang on the side with three unique beads attached to it that represents my older sister and two little brothers. The tattoo will be behind my right ear stretching into the top of my neck. But, there is a problem with it. I am only 16 but I want to wait a year from today before actually planning which artist I would like to go to. Since I'll only be around 6 months till I'm 18 should I wait till then? I wouldn't really want to get something my parents actually like (they are pretty strict and don't have or like tattoos, my father actually has tattoos he hates, and my mother and father don't get along and I don't want them to see this as a reason to hate the tattoo). I would really love to hear your opinions on the whole idea and some help and/or tips to help me persuade them. :D

  Well I was in a fickle like you a couple years back, and I decided to just get them anyways. I got it, came home like usual and they found out a couple days later. In the end they couldn't do anything because I already got it and they cant just scrub it off me. Every time I got a new one my mom would always nag about it, but she gets over them in a few days.
