What is awesome quality henna?

Jamila Henna for Hair vs. Body Art Quality?

  • Jamila Henna for Hair vs. Body Art Quality? So on Ebay, i ordered some Jamila henna. I wanted to use it for body art strictly. When it came in the mail, the boxes say Henna For Hair!I and if i'm able to, i would rather see if it is ok to just use it for skin art instead of paying MORE money to just return it. Here are my questions, please answer to your ability! ~Is Jamila Henna for Hair safe to use on skin as body art? ~What will the differences be? (Quality of powder, stain color, etc) ~If i'm wanting to do body art, should I just return it to get the BAQ or do you think it will be fine as it is? ~Has anyone else used Jamila Henna For Hair for Body Art, and what did you think? ~Any other information on Jamila Henna (this is my first experience, and i dont know very much) ~Any other tips, tricks, information, hints, etc would be appreciated. THANK YOU!

If you're gonna make this mistake, you chose the correct brand to be mistaken with, because Jamila is consistently awesome. - All Jamila will be pure henna, so completely safe, whether it's labeled for hair or skin. - Unlike some companies, the only difference in hair and skin henna from Jamila is the quality of the sift. If you want to ensure that you have a creamy paste, sift the powder before mixing it. But honestly, Jamila for hair is often a better sift than other henna powders meant for skin, they're one of the best companies for this reason. Other hennas may be lesser quality, or harvested in the rainy season, or full of sand and twigs, but Abid & Co. basically just buys only the best henna for their Jamila brand, and then sifts the henna sold for skin a few more times than the hair henna is. - It will be fine if you sift it, and if you're not doing fine detail you may not even need to do that. It's also a good idea to strain your paste to remove any remaining chunks after mixing. - Several times I've used hair Jamila on skin with no problems, it stains beautifully. - While it's very smooth, it's also a cake-like powder. Basically you can divide henna into two categories, pasty and stringy. Stringy hennas make better line, while pasty ones break or skip more. If you're used to working with henna from places west of Pakistan, like Yemeni or African hennas, you probably are used to a stringier texture. To get a better texture that lays down smooth lines without breaks or skips, you would need more sugar in Jamila and other pasty powders than a stringier paste would need. If this is your first time with henna, add sugar slowly, and look for a consistency where you can dip a spoon in and pull a long string up, but not so runny it flows off the spoon.

Other answers

~Is Jamila Henna for Hair safe to use on skin as body art? Yes, it is *safe* to use Jamila Henna for Hair on the skin. ~What will the differences be? (Quality of powder, stain color, etc) The stain quality will be poor. The powder is not sifted as finely as body art quality. ~If i'm wanting to do body art, should I just return it to get the BAQ or do you think it will be fine as it is? If you just want to play, give it a try. If you need it to be good, buy BAQ from a well-trusted source like ArtisticAdornment.com. ~Has anyone else used Jamila Henna For Hair for Body Art, and what did you think? Yes, it was generally disappointing, but still better than any other henna for hair when used for body art. ~Any other information on Jamila Henna (this is my first experience, and i dont know very much) It takes 24-48 hours for the dye to release after you mix it; keep this in mind and don't use it too soon. ~Any other tips, tricks, information, hints, etc would be appreciated. Mix with 1oz of cajeput essential oil (also at ArtisticAdornment.com) for best results, no matter what quality of henna you're using for body art.
