Whats a reasonable price to pay for a well made e-commerce website with secure checkout?

  • Interested in starting a website for my business and would like to have both a general information and an online store section with secure checkout and shopping cart and all that happy horseP@@p which is capable of handling credit card transactions. I have a friend who works in graphics design and knows a little about site-building who is willing to work fairly cheaply, but would like an idea of the value of the site so I can compensate accordingly. Are there templates available online for the shopping cart section, and obviously I'd have to set up some type of webserver or SQL database for storage of secure payment information.
