What's a good blogging site?

• Im getting into the whole blogging thing from reading other ppls blogs and now I want to do some of my own but I dnt kno where to start. Everytime I google it it takes me to a website that shows you how to create a blogging site of your own. Which I wouldn't mind for in the future but for rite now I just want to make a few entries here and there. My journalist teacher told me that can be a good idea to open up some more pathways to the books I write. So anyways if you know of any sites that I can go blog on can u let me kno.   First off, signing up for programs just because someone says so in this forum won't solve your problem. You need to decide what you are really going to do. You say you don't know where to start but you don't want to follow the expertise of the proven bloggers. Now if you want to blog, then you need to create a blog site of your own. So your statement really doesn't make sense. And yes, a blog can be a great way to create a book. For a blog to be successful, it must be focused on a very narrow topic. The same holds true for most books. Blogs allow you to write about the subject you want and electronically store it until you are ready to compile it in your own complete book. Charles Dickens did the same thing. Of course he didn't have blogs, but he would write short stories and publish them in journels. They would be done in series. When he completed the series, he compiled them into books. Many authors do this, and a blog is a great way to do it. But you need to get a website and create a blog. There is no way around that.
