The people who have bought it say it is brilliant and has a great storyline, so how can i get other people to see this?

Hi there Congratulations on your book. I work in business, and we frequently look at ways to advertise, so here are some things we use, and also some other recommendations. However, what you use depends on your budget of course, as most advertising channels require funding. * You Tube/Facebook/ Twitter etc - everyone is on those sites, starting there is a good idea. Perhaps you could create a Facebook page * Radio, TV etc (expensive, but if you have a large budget, would be good) * Newspaper, magazine etc, depending on budget would also be v good * DO NOT USE FLYERS - Flyers are hit and miss; if people drop them, YOU could be fined for littering. * Paid advert in public places - i.e. airport, train station, restaurant etc * Create a website (very low budget required) which can be viewed by typing into Google things like (let's pretend your book is about ghosts) "ghost stories", "ghosts" "good ghost books" etc... You can do this by adding these tags to your website As I said, it all depends on budget. One thing I must stress is do NOT use flyers; we used those in the 'early days' and someone dropped one, and we were actually fined. good luck

Maybe by creating a youtube channel where you promote your books and ideas would be a great first step , the ones who have already bought the books would be the first viewers of a constant growing audience , there's a lot to be done till you get to be famous , but if you have enough will power , and dedication , you can be sure you will sell as many books as you want , but be sure to spread the news about your youtube channel around if you are really going to make one.... By doing this you will get more views , and it helps your videos get viral , because in a place where 48 hours of video is uploaded every minute it's easy for your content to get lots among the stupid cat videos and other advertisements.... Good luck on whatever you decide to do , and I hope you get to sell a lot of books and become a world wide famous writter....

I'm in the process of writing a novel. I must say, you are very brave to self-publish. Local newspapers often run articles/reviews for local talent; It's relevant, and close to home. Have you asked any of your local newspapers to consider doing a book review? That may be a good place to start. Something else you can do... Authors often do book-signings. You set up a table in a bookstore (usually a Saturday) and personally promote and answer questions about your books; and then people will have signed copies, which they will appreciate as a keepsake. Good luck.

Here are a few ideas: 1. Set up a blog with a "behind the scenes" idea (comes from movies but you can implement a simlar concept in your book) describe your sources what you did to write the book what you based your book on (any sayings or mentors that were important to you) and include links to the book's sale page in the blog. Standard SEO from there. 2. Write articles about your new book on places like Triond or Ezine and submit them. Then share htem over facebook and twitter. Make the article title vague so that people are curious enough to click and don't show that you're publicizing your book until later. 3. You could build a website around your book with games, articles, quotes, teasers, etc. And use SEO to generate traffic and thus income. This is the most expensive and consuming but probably the most profitable.

You need to ask yourself "i really need help to sell my book" as that focuses you down one step further than just advertise and to sell you need to establish something that people will buy from - eg a website. as others have said they are cheap to setup/own. once you have a place people can see info about you ( as well as the book etc) they will have the reassurance that contacting you and buying from you is 'safe' ie they will get a book in the mail after parting with their money. Once you have your site you need to promote it and the reality for a new small site site is paying for advertisement on Google which is the biggest search engine or doing the equivalent on Facebook. Google will tell you the approx price you will pay for someone the clicks on the search term you want to place your ad. eg the term "Great new books". remember you may only get 1% of the people who click that end up buying so if your book is selling for say $30 you could pay up to 30c per click before you lose money let alone make a contribution to its costs. if a term like the above costs $1 you need to choose another one that is not so sought after but it will mean slower time to sell the same number of copies.
