How would you provide more jobs?

How can mcCain provide tax breaks for big businesses to create more jobs and/or lower prices without raising a?

  • It was mentioned last night that under Obama's tax plan big companies may not be able to afford to hire people, and/or have to raise prices resulting in recession in light of the higher taxes that would be imposed on them. Nonetheless this would allow for 95% of Americans to not have their taxes raised at all. Meanwhile McCain had talked about providing more funding to big corporations which in turn would create more jobs, so I knew surely he would have to raise taxes to do this. Yet his website mentions that he does not plan to raise taxes for ANYONE! http://www.johnmccain.com/content/default.aspx?guid=9b94f39b-1650-4a3a-89ef-fba8cba4c868 <--end of the first paragraph. So where does McCain intend to get that additional revenue that he intends to give to big businesses in the form of a tax break? If he does not raise anyone's taxes then where will the money come from? Something just doesn't add up.

Wait a second here... McCain talked about using government federal dollars to fund corporations? Logically, that can't be true! A tax break isn't transferring wealth from one party to another... it's just a decrease in federal income. Your question doesn't make sense. We're just going to be going more into debt, paying it with treasury bills, bonds and a couple ious to foreign investors. Yes, McCain's plan would probably cause a deficit but as will Obama's (though slightly less). However, with the economy this bad, both would need to cut what they can and stimulate what they could... even if it's going to keep us a bit longer in debt. I like Obama's plan better though.

95%? only 55% of americans pay taxes at the end of the day. the top 5% pays over 80% of all taxes. the more people working the more revenue the gov. collects. obama overall plan has 1 trillion dollars of new spending. he is going to give that 45% that does not pay taxes an extra four thousand dollars at tax return time. where is his money coming from. no windfall from the oil companies and tax revenues are down. he will cut no programs, no dem ever has. and oil companies will get around 4 billion in tax breaks. drops in the bucket i say. and for sure, any taxes the oil company has to pay will be made up at our expense. lower taxes means more people working which means more revenue.

It is called "Borrow and Spend". Reagan pioneered it, Clinton reformed it, Bush reinvented it and McCain would continue it.

If jobs are created, each of the people who take one of the jobs will be paying taxes. More taxpayers will be on the payrolls and so more taxes will be collected to cover the costs. This is not raising taxes, it is creating a larger tax base of taxpayers. If the major companies are taxed more, why should they create jobs so they can pay more taxes? Doesn't it make more sense that they will pack up and take their businesses to cheaper countries?

Exactly. Mccain cant add up. thats why we are in a record deficit, Bush couldnt add up either, it just does not work people.
