It's complicated. Obtaining a birth certificate that will satisfy the Birthers will require a lot of very expensive steps. Most people don't see it as important enough to be worth the cost. Step one is to create a nationwide law standardizing on what constitutes acceptable proof of birth. Then, we will need to institute a system for policing it, and create a very expensive central government agency to monitor it. (Because you know, Social Security is wholly insufficient for this task, and the states can't be trusted.) Then we need to agree upon the appropriate wording, since apparently the big problem with the Obama form is that it says "Certification of live birth" as opposed to certificate. Of course, then once we've figured out HOW to do all of that, we need to spend billions of dollars in R&D to figure out how to send a man armed with all of this knowledge back to the 1950s to make sure the system is implemented in time for the future president to be born. Then we've got this whole other issue of, if we've developed frikkin time travel, is using it to just get a stupid birth certificate really the right thing to do? We'll then get tangled up in decades of secret debate in a closed-doors session of a classified congressional committee, along with the joint chiefs of staff, arguing whether this is an appropriate use of resources. It will all amount to moot, because some hero genius will end up repurposing the technology, to simply retrieve Lincoln from the theatre at the moment of his shooting, replacing him with the Disneyworld animatronic version of himself, and installing him in the White House as Obama's successor. By that time, nobody will care anymore since Obama's 8 years will have long since ended, and everybody will just be so ecstatic about having a "real American President" in office, that nothing else will matter. Unfortunately, it won't last, because in a year or two, half of the country will decide that Lincoln's policies are too radical, and if history can be relied upon, we'll probably see all the red states secede. So really, the time machine guys will most likely end up killing themselves. On the other hand, we could all simply accept that not all states do things the same way, and accept that a "certification of live birth" from Hawaii is no different from a "Certificate of live birth" from New York (what I have, and the only document they can or will provide.). It would save us the expense of time travel, and Lincoln the embarrassment of having to go through a second civil war. Let the poor man rest in peace already!

Why don't you respond to questions raised here. It's getting pretty stupid when birthers make a claim, we refute it, then you make the same claim in the future. Go back and do your research, get a question, pick the best response, try and refute it. If no one will answer your refutation, email me, and I will refute it. He doesn't need to worry about it. McCain, The Gov. of Hawaii, Bush, Cheney, the FBI, CIA, and the Joint Chiefs, have all accepted that Obama is eligible. The people who had an interest in keeping him out of office and upholding the constitution say that he's the POTUS. Should I believe some conspiracy nutjobs who have been ejected from court time and again and have kept digging, while coming up with nothing. The Hawaiian COLB IS the only version of the original birth certificate that Hawaii issues anymore since they computerized their systems. He spent the money, got the document, it was released. It shows everything you need to prove citizenship at birth. That's why most Democrats and Republicans accept that Obama was born a US citizen. ALL Hawaiian "vault copies" are on hold. Not just Obama's. They were all entered into the Vital Records computer system, then archived. Prior to about 2000, when you ordered a copy of your birth certificate, you got a photocopy of the original. They don't do that anymore, they issue a computer-generated form that matches the information in the system. Hawaiian officials (Republicans, btw) have said that they have examined the records and that they show Obama was born in Hawaii. That's all we need. In 1982, long after Obama was born, Hawaii DID pass a law saying parents could get a COLB for children born outside Hawaii, BUT the COLB would show the actual place of birth (Kyoto Japan, for example) not a place in Hawaii, and the child had to be over 1 year old. That would show on the COLB as the date registered being more than a year after the birth date, and it would be marked "delayed". It's not a post-adoption certificate, as that would show "amended". Candidates don't usually release college records. George W Bush didn't release his, they were obtained by news organizations. Kerry released his after the campaign. McCain released a tiny part of his military records, and NEVER released his birth certificate (everybody knew where he was born, he didn't need to prove it.). It's not unusual to keep records private!
