How much does a cable/satellite provider have to pay?

Republicans want to choose their healthcare provider, but also you want to complain that you have to pay fo?

  • what I hear time and again from conservatives and others on this issue is that they have been against a universal heathcare system EVEN THOUGH it would essentially mean that they would not have to pay [directly] for coverage [the cost would be reflected in taxes]. They have stated that they are against this system because a single-payer system would mean to an extent that they would lose the ability to choose their own healthcare provider. In essence the government would choose what healthcare provider(s) they can see based on their condition [which is the way it is currently done for people who get free government treatment]. Nonetheless, I have also heard conservatives complain about having to pay [taxes] for other people who currently have medicaid or other free government insurance to get free treatment, which is basically the same [type of] treatment everyone else would get through a universal system [and on the surface NO ONE would have to pay either]. In addition, Obama did want to have this type of free universal coverage for everyone, but you conservatives didn't want it because you didn't want to lose your precious ability to choose your provider, did you? But what is truly remarkable about this is that I have heard even the wealthiest of conservatives complain about these taxes, saying that even though they make a lot of money, they still don't believe they should "have to pay taxes" for other people's treatment! Can they really be that selfish?? I am not saying there are not probably some lazy, non-working people out there, however a good majority of those who can't afford to pay for treatment ARE those who do NOT want a handout, they really are hard working and WANT to work to pay for their own just like rich people might be. The bottom line is, anyone who is so concerned about choosing the provider that you want, then you are going to have to pay for it. So either you can agree to switch to the government-run universal system and jump on the bandwagon where the government will pay for your coverage [like some people currently get with medicaid, e.t.c.], the tradeoff being you just won't have much choice of a provider, OR you can shut your big mouths and continue to pay your premiums to have the coverage you want. STOP being so selfish.

I am a Republican and cognizant of the fact that many are out of work. So, who is going to pay for it? People are already getting their hours cut back and even mandating coverage is crazy because where does the money come from? Taxes. If you can't even keep your own electric on higher taxes is the last thing that you need and all republicans are not rich and many are unemployed due to no fault of their own.

See, the thing about the First Amendment is...I don't have to shut my mouth. This bill is going to screw me and lots of other people as well. I have a right to complain about this bill for as long as I want. I'm not rich, and I don't think that I ever will be rich. But I do know that I don't want, or need for that matter, health insurance. As it is right now, I spend less than $50 a year on my health care: that's band-aids, Excedrin, dental floss, toothpaste, etc. If this bill passes, I'm going to be forced to spend several hundreds to maybe a thousand or more dollars a year on health insurance, using money that would normally be spent elsewhere. If not wanting this makes me selfish, then f*** you. I'm very selfish.

tl;dr

I agree. I also support the single payer system.
