Burning sensation in foot with drop foot?
-
i was in an accident about 5 years ago which resulted in sciatic nerve damage which also resulted in drop foot in my left foot. over the years i have been gaining movement back slowly (can push down and push my toes down now) but can not lift up and most feeling is still gone. the past month or so i have noticed a burning sensation in my foot when i wear my shoes. i have tried different shoes and have the same result in both pairs of shoes. i have tried baby power and it did not seem to help. i do not believe it is athletes foot. i have no other symptoms such as smelliness or anything. i have no real sensations in this foot other than the burning which is bad enough that i will often need to remove my shoe throughout the day. i do not have insurance so i am not in a position to see a doctor about this. i can't think of anything else to add. does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

Answer:
Signs and symptoms of foot drop ,may include: Difficulty lifting the front part of your foot, which is sometimes the only sign of foot drop Dragging your foot on the floor as you walk Slapping your foot down onto the floor with each step you take Raising your thigh when you walk, as if you were climbing stairs (step page gait) Pain, weakness or burning, numbness in the foot Foot drop typically affects only one foot. Depending on the underlying cause, however, it's possible for both feet to be affected. Sometimes foot drop is temporary. In other cases, foot drop is permanent. If you have foot drop, you may need to wear a brace on your ankle and foot to hold your foot in a normal position. Foot drop isn't a disease. Rather, foot drop is a sign of an underlying neurological, muscular or anatomical problem. I hope this helps you. And good luck.
