Why does it hurt every time I breathe in?

Sometimes when i breathe in my lungs will start to hurt its either the left or right and then a pop?

  • when i breathe in my lungs will start to hurt pretty bad but only on the right or the left at one time, its in a concentrated area and i can subside the pain if i stop breathing or breathe out with out completing a full breath but if i breathe in the whole way the part that's experiencing pain will just pop! and it will hurt really bad but then it doesn't happen again for a while, what is this?

  • Answer:

It could be pleurisy, but I would go see your regular doctor and see what they say.

Go see a doctor and get a base-line chest x-ray to determine if there are any blockages or holes. Especially if after the pop you are in pain and have shortness of breath... Do you feel a popping (like bubble wrap feel) when you press on your skin above your shoulders or on your kneck?

yes i get them too. Its nothing to worry about and a lot of people suffer from it, it is not life threatening. doctors arnt quite sure what it is and no research is done on it because it does not kill people. some say its brought on by consuming a lot of artificial sweeteners, others say its just one of those things. http://www.failedsuccess.com/index.php?/weblog/comments/precordial_catch_syndrome_chest_pain/
