I need to stop cracking my knuckles!?

I crack my knuckles and neck WAYY too much! Also, I twist my back to make that crack too. My friends say that cracking joints can sometimes cause ligament or tendon damage in the future, so I would really like to stop. Unfortunately it is very hard to quit. I don't want any suggestions like hypnosis or anything, because I have already tried it and it does not work. Sometimes I also subconsciously crack my joints too, so any suggestions on how to notice would be good also. Thanks in advance!

Hypnosis for sure. i have heard from many good things with people quitting bad habits with hypnosis. i got hypnotized once for fun.

Good luck, your description reminds me a lot of my Trichotillomania (hair pulling) which I'm often aware that I'm doing it, but usually it's a sub-conscious impulse I can't seem to control... There's no cure for it that I know of, and I suspect the same is true with knuckle cracking, nail biting, and most other forms of OCD-like impulses.
