A pain on the left side of my chest/heart?

Chronic flank pain on my left side?

  • I dont know where to turn at this point so I'll try Yahoo Answer... I am 26 years old and for the past 13 years I have had chronic pain in my left flank. A sharp stabbing which comes and goes. When it first started I was diagnosed with Kidney Stones and over the past 13 years figured I just kept getting them. I have been to many specialists, urologists etc. I always told them that I was diagnosed with Kidney Stones so they immediately say thats what it is. HOWEVER, I HAVE ONLY TWICE IN MY LIFE PASSED A STONE. I have had many CT scans and i typically do have stones. The problem is I never have pain when passing... the really horrible pain is in my kidney itself (everyone I talk to that has had stones says the worst part is when you pass them). I am thinking this is more than stones but now dont have insurance for testing. So here are the things i have noticed: Sharp Pain in Left Flank.. ONLY ON THE LEFT SIDE NEVER the RIGHT Gas.. it seems after a larger meal the pain is worse Movement - when i walk or am very active the pain seems to always come but even when standing it will come. SHARP Pain lasting Minutes to hours Nothing helps the pain (heat, advil, even Norcos barely help) Never feel pain in front.. Only back Rarely feel pain in urethra. Never physically pass stones.(I dont do anything different when i get pain ((IE DRINK MORE WATER ETC)) Please help me. I have lived a life of misery because of this. As I child I could not run and play like normal kids and was too embarrassed to say anything because I was made fun of for "pissing out rocks.." If anyone knows anything else I should be looking at other than kidney stones let me know. Thank you

  • Answer:

Sorry to say, but no one on here will have a definitive answer for you. Find out if you qualify for the medicaid program or if there is any community medical programs in your area. I have had 32 kidney stones and it took urologists & a nephrologist to help me. This could even indicate a genetic problem when your kidneys were forming. I hope something works for you soon and you are in less pain.
