Why does the tip of my thumb hurt?

My thumb is dislocated, HELP!?

• ok so i dislocated my thumb, it didnt turn 90 degrees though it went inwards (faceing the floor) like the tip upwards, and i wanted to kno if i need to get surgery (god forbid) it doesnt hurt much now, but it was swolen before

  If it slid back in place after the injury, it may not need any treatment. If it's still displaced, there are still good chances of it being possible to simply pull it back in place, doctors know how to fix such a simple injury quickly. Then you'll be recommended to put ice on it to reduce swelling, and take some Advil to reduce pain and swelling. A compressive bandage can also be advisable. Radiographs would be a good idea to make sure nothing is broken, and at the same time the doctor will give you the best recommendations for your specific case.
